The Midwest Cycling Classic Was a Classic Belgian Race

Kaitlyn Rauwerda

The 2025 Midwest Cycling Classic delivered all the fun of a Belgian spring classic—crashes, corners, and cobble-style carnage. Here’s how our squad tackled the madness.

Race Recap:

It was a classic, chaotic Belgian-style day at the Midwest Cycling Classic, with tight corners, narrow roads, and more than a few crashes along the way. We’re proud of how our riders handled the unpredictable conditions, and most importantly, we’re relieved that the team made it through relatively unscathed.

Unfortunately, Natalie and Kaitlyn both came down in separate crashes during the race. Thankfully, they walked away with just some minor scrapes and are already looking ahead to their next opportunity to line up.

Despite the late-race chaos, Febe Poppe and Chloe Patrick showed incredible determination and focus. Both were caught behind a crash on the final corner but still managed to power through to strong results—Febe finishing 11th and Chloe in 15th, just outside the top 10.

Races like this one are a true test of skill, composure, and resilience. It was the perfect rehearsal for the intensity and unpredictability of the Tour of Flanders, and we’re feeling confident about what’s to come.

Looking forward to building on this momentum at the next race.
