Cynisca Cycling Recognized as Best Team of the Day and Take Home 7th at Vuelta CV Feminas

Heidi Franz – Intermediate Sprint Prize

The 2025 season is officially underway, and Cynisca Cycling made a powerful statement at the Vuelta CV Féminas in Spain! The one-day UCI 1.1 race brought together some of the best women’s teams in the world, and our riders showed incredible strength, teamwork, and determination — ultimately earning Best Team of the Day honors.

Race Recap:

The race began under clear skies in Valencia, with a fast-paced start as the peloton quickly strung out along the coastal roads. Our team stayed well-positioned in the bunch, navigating early breakaway attempts and crosswinds.

Heidi Franz made her mark early in the race by contesting the intermediate sprint — and she came away with the Intermediate Sprint Prize, showing her strength and tactical awareness. This was a huge moment for the team, and Heidi’s performance helped keep the squad motivated and active throughout the day.

The peloton kept the pressure high, and despite several counterattacks, our team remained active and aggressive in protecting our position.

In the final kilometers, the sprint trains formed, and our riders dug deep to stay in contention. Chloe Patrick led the team across the line with an impressive 7th place finish, followed closely by strong performances from Alexis Magner (12th), Febe Poppe (16th), and Caoimhe O’Brien (19th) — a remarkable team effort that ultimately earned Cynisca Cycling the Best Team of the Day award.

From our Head Sports Director, Gillian Ellsay, on race strategy:

“All points were accomplished well, while the team looked like they already had a full season together.”

Ellsay also praised the leadership on the road, noting:

“Alexis and Heidi were excellent road captains. Those two are calm, cool, and collected.”

The team’s cohesive dynamic, sharp race execution, and ability to work together in a fast and aggressive field is already a promising sign for the season ahead.

A huge thank you to our fans, sponsors, and supporters — your belief in us drives our success. Stay tuned for more updates as we continue to make our mark in 2025!
