Mathias Gadeyne

TEAM MECHANIC

From junior Belgian cyclist to professional bike mechanic, Mathias has spent most of his life in the company of bicycles and those who love the sport. He got his start as a mechanic learning from his mentor, renowned mechanic George Noyes (George’s professional experience included Andy Hampsten’s Giro win, Armstrong’s World’s victory, and complete and utter Mapei domination at the “Queen of the Classics,” Paris-Roubaix.)

Through George, he also discovered his passion of the engineering behind the bike. Everything seemed so cool, but complicated. George invested years in training him from novice to an experienced mechanic.

Over the past ten years, Mathis has worked as a mechanic with one of the best Belgian junior teams (EFC – Michel Pollentier and Wim Feys), delivering many strong riders now in the World Tour. He has also worked with UCI teams TotalEnergies, Bingoal-Pauwels Sauces and Alpecin-Deceuninck.

He’s thrilled to join Cynisca full time this season as our head team mechanic. “The passion that riders, management and staff have here is incredible,” said Mathias, “and that is why I chose to continue my career with Cynisca. I jumped into the Cynisca project in 2023 and hope to work with them to make the team’s dreams come true.”
