Q&A with Gabrielle:

What do you consider your strengths in cycling?

“I am best on challenging courses, whether it be technical, windy, or elevation. I love technical turns/fast descents as well as helping lead out teammates.”

What is your favorite race memory?

“Helping Megan Jastrab win Junior Worlds in 2019 and standing with my USA teammates on the Worlds podium for the overall of the Junior Nations Cup. Those were pretty  amazing experiences.”

What got you into bike racing?

“I started racing when I was about 10, going to cross races with my dad. My older sisters would race too, but something about it clicked with me. Twelve years later, I’m still at it! There’s so many layers to what made me love and continues to make me love bike racing, but I’ll pare it down to: the freedom and adventure of riding a bike, the consistent and rewarding challenge of training/racing, and the amazing opportunities to meet people and see places it has brought me.”

Where is your favorite place to ride?

“My home roads in Eugene, OR, will always have a special place in my  heart, but Boulder takes the cake. I daydream about many  of the roads/trails there.

What is your favorite travel destination?

Austria. I had the opportunity to race there a few years back, and it was the most beautiful place I’ve ever been! I want to go back and explore more of the country some day.

Race you are most excited about next year?

“Really excited to see Road Nationals in a new location.”

Favorite food?

“I could live off of only variations of fried rice for a very long time.”

Any dream race you’d like to do?

“How could I not say the Tour de France Femmes! Racing an elite world championships would be pretty amazing as well.
